Planting 50 Million Trees Between Hull & Liverpool | The Northern Forest

Etherington’s is excited to be a part of the UK Government’s Northern Forest initiative, which aims to plant 50 million trees between Hull and Liverpool. We are honored to have been accepted onto this ambitious plan and are looking forward to making our contribution to the project.

Our land, which is approximately 3500m2, will be used to plant a variety of trees and shrubs. The planting will take place between October 2022 and March 2023, and we are already well on our way to achieving our goal.

Last month, we kicked off stage one of our planting scheme with the help of 50 children from our local Marfleet Primary School. The children, along with many staff volunteers, worked hard to plant 800 trees in the cold conditions. It was a tremendous effort and we are grateful for their support.

Our Managing Director, Antony, would like to extend a special thank you to his father, Graham, for planting an Apple tree in front of our Head Office on his 80th Birthday. We hope to use the apples from this tree to produce some delicious Etherington Cider for Graham’s 81st birthday.
