Job TitleProduction Planner    

Reports To: Group Manufacturing Director

Job Purpose: To Create and Manage production programmes across the group to achieve realistic plans that meet customer expectations whilst optimising resource capability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and Maintain a Sage based planning system
  • Implement Sales and Operations planning process
  • Create Capacity profiling and Master Production Schedules
  • Produce weekly and daily shop floor schedules for each business unit
  • Provide support and guidance to teams on Shop Floor Data activities
  • Evaluating customer orders to create suitable production schedules.
  • Estimating the amount of equipment and labour required for production.
  • Promptly address and resolve production issues with the wider business team to minimise delays in production.
  • Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labour, and equipment availability.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Work in line with and adopt the ethos of ‘The Eltherington Way’ principles

Job Skill/Knowledge Requirements

  • Engineering degree, supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working as a production planner.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and manufacturing resource planning (MRPII) and related software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
